I'm just another person who has fallen in love with Japan!
Though I must say this blog is more about its pop culture than the traditional culture...
Unless you want to hear about my onigiri, sushi, and other Japanese food endeavours...

My favorite Japanese bands: 嵐(Arashi), NewS, and Lead.
I write about these most often.

The translations I do are mostly on my LJ, so please go look!  I use my vox mostly for fangirling.

**I'm glad so many people want to make friends with me, but I would appreciate it if you would leave me a comment or send a note when you friend me.  And beware that I probably won't add you back if we've never talked.  We don't have to be great friends, but at least one comment/note would be nice, something more than "Hi" or "Thank-you".  And I don't add blank journals.  You can at least make one entry saying all your entries are private or whatever**

About the fall appetite

Has everyone tasted fall food

lately?

I’ve been feeling my appetite for fall

HonestlyI eat a lot

But aside from shooting for「Moraeru TV」

I don’t eat fall type foods
 

I wonder why has it become fall

And I suddenly want to eat fall foods

In summer, it’s hot and I get worn out

And I don’t want to eat

I don’t think it matters in spring and winter

Because it’s called fall harvest

Looking toward the fall season

There are lots of foods
My eating onigri and ramen

Isn't really relatd

Well, that's fine
 

Just a bit ago I was walking to dinner

And there was a stand selling rice with squid in it.

The smell was real

I was hungry
So it was like a knock out

It looked really good

The friends I was with

Their eyes were like  heart marks

「I want to eat it」since they said this

I took my wallet out

And paid for it all

Since I gave them that

「Le's drink beer」

I told them not to say this

"Let's go for a massage"

We also talked about that

「Let's sit down at the store and eat」 I said

And it worked

Then, near the store,

They were selling baked sweet potatoes

Of all fall related food

This is honestly my favorite

This time, my eyes were like heart marks

I took out my wallet again

And paid for it all

Even though I bought the potatoes
The other stuff is a lie
My friends bought the rice with squid in it
And of course they bought beer
And we never went for a massage・・・

Anyway, I thought we'd go out and have dinner
I got through without buying anything

About that, I'm a rice fan but
My friends are bread fans
Toast for dinner is 100% okay for them
And instead of rice, bread makes them happy

Since I never thought about that
I was extremely surprised

「Why」 I asked in objection
I wonder what people like better
I'll take the statistics from everyone's comments
And make an official argument

Heheh...I seriously shoulda started with Jun first so Aiba could be my best...  Oh well, it'll be my tribute to him to be the best since I was Jun-baited.

So Nino...I was going to paint his background with all the colors of the rainbow since his solo is RAINBOW, but my hands hurt so much, I didn't have it in me to do so.  So I hope you like the bg ^^"  And I forgot his glasses first time around, and what's Niji without his glasses??

I seriously should have started backwards on my favorites.  I suddenly remembered some tips and tricks to make my dear little drawings a tiny bit better. I also forgot a few things on dear Ai-chan.  Ah well, that's life.  And my challenge.

I decided to make my own challenge week.  It also happens to be Arashi's 11 year anniversary month.  And I finally got Photoshop back.

I'm going to be drawing the boys as chibis in their solo outfits from AAA 2008 because I love them all so much.  I guess the order is the order that I like them, and the challenge will be...to get them done one a day.

So, ichiban Aiba is first.  This is actually a re-do, because Photoshop decided to die on me and I lost the entire file >< Anyway, I hope you all like it!

So, I wrote this last Sept. in my LJ, which is more than a year ago.  However, my feelings haven't changed at all.  Happy reading^^

I've been wondering a loooong time when my Arashi fandom started.  I remember that my convesation partner, (we'll call her) Ma-san, mentioned them my freshman year (fall '05)...I'm almost positive.  I remember finding Sakura Sake and really liking the song/video, but I never did anything with it.  Back in the day, I liked Hamasaki Ayumi (not entirely sure why....) and songs from Mermaid Melody. 
It took a while, but finally I downloaded the song, and my computer marks the day as July 5, 2007.  I'm gonna set that my pre-birthday into the fandom, tho not solidly, because I left it for a long time after that.  Then one day, my cousin and I were talking though IM in late Feb. '08 when she said, "Have you seen Arashi's new video 'We Can Make It'?"  Well of course I hadn't, because as I already said I wasn't following Arashi at the time.  I checked it out and loved it.  That was the song that got me back into the fandom, and full force.  I downloaded the song not long after, which my computer marks as March 1, 2008.  That is going to be my birthday into the fandom day, since it's the only solid day I have.  I don't remember it being that late, although Step and Go was actually the new video, but how were we to know that being slackers in the Arashi department.
Lo and behold, I was going to get a Japanese roommate that semester who actually loved Arashi as much as any Japanese person I knew.  She recommended Bambino! to me, which was my first Japanese drama.  Next I watched Hana Yori Dango and totally fell in love.  With Jun.  Not gonna lie, I was Jun-baited like so many others.  However, it didn't take long to fall in love with the other members.  There were certainly enough C-D-G no Arashis, Shukudai-kuns, and Mago Mago Arashi for my liking.  I kyaaaed every time I saw Jun-kun and collected as many of his videos as I could.  Yeah, I liked Jun/Aiba at the time, which is prolly why I switched to Aiba. 
As already said, the next member who struck me was Aiba-chan.  I really loved his bakaness and yet his sweetness also struck me.  The episode that got me was the episode of D no Arashi where he and Jun went in a huge freezer at -50 degrees Celsius and ate different kinds of food (I still don't know which one that is!!!  and I so want to find it!!!!). [Edit: it's 83!] Watching his letter and practically sobbing probably didn't hurt, either.
I'll admit, I have to go back to Sakura Sake's video.  I kept getting Sho and Nino so confused and also Aiba and Riida.  Now it's almost unimaginable for me to do such a thing, but the hair styles were similar enough that I couldn't differentiate (not to mention the fact that I was a total loser and all Japanese people looked the same to me [goodness, I was awful back in the day]).
Nino was next to be noticed by me, probably because he was so mean but in a nice way.  He always has something to say, and usually it's funny.  He's also truly kind hearted, and his letter at 24 Hour TV this year was evidence of it.
Next was Sho.  I said I got him and Nino so confused in the beginning, and this was probably why I noticed him, too.  He's a slight on the quiet side, tho not as much as Riida, but I think it's how stupid he can be sometimes and then that dorky smile that he flashes when he knows he's being baka that I like about him.  He also tends to fight with Jun a lot, almost like they're rivals because they are both the most undoubtedly handsome in the group.  Now that I make fun of Jun (in a loving way!) it's all the better that they fight.
Last to be noticed was Riida.  He can sing like an angel and his dancing and drawing skills are second to none.  On the other hand, he's extremely quiet and somewhat spacey.  I think that's what I liked about him, though, as we are similar in that department.  His reactions to food are all the same: Umai~~!  Except for the AnS where they ate the stinky-but-delicious foods, like the beans, where he said: Mazu~~

So Bambino was my first Arashi drama....goodness, I'd forgotten!!  I always thought Hanadan was first... It's always fun to go back and see how I got into the fandom.  March 1st will be my 2 year anniversary, then.  I should totally do something to celebrate!!  Now that I have wireless internet and Photoshop (today was a good day), it's totally not out of the question....what to do, however would be the question....
